Don’t ask Becky what her job title at Saunders Wood Specialties is…ask her what it isn’t. She needs a bigger closet for all the hats she wears: General Manager, Human Resources Manager, Safety Director, Inventory Control, Accounts Payable, Shipping Coordinator, Purchasing, IT Computer Support, FSC Administrator, and Collections. After graduating from UW-Platteville in 2002 with a BS in Business Administration, Becky joined the Saunders team in 2003, working in accounting and shipping. Since then, her hat collection has gotten a little out of control. Luckily for Saunders, Becky is the type of person who has a spreadsheet for everything. A newly minted empty nester, she’s spent years driving her kids to sporting events in her white minivan, nicknamed the Mommy Missile. On the weekends, Becky helps her engineer husband with his bridge inspection business, putting her Bridge Inspector Certificate to good use. When Becky’s ready to abandon her spreadsheets for a few days, you can typically find her snowmobiling, cruising in a pontoon, or exploring Florida’s gulf shores. Want to get in her good graces? Leave a few peanut butter cups on her desk or ask about her cats and dogs.

During a nearly thirty-year career with Saunders Wood Specialties, Mike has worked his way up from production to Veneer Buyer and Head of Sales for the company. It’s no secret that Mike is a veneer expert, but there are many more reasons why you’ll love working with him. Mike’s the kind of you’d want to have over to watch the big game (even though he’s a Raiders fan). Definitely choose him as your cornhole partner because he plays competitively in northern Wisconsin. Mike also loves sports, has coached for years, and is a great person to go fishing or kayaking with. At Saunders, we love Mike’s many quirks. He almost always wears shorts to work, refuses to get on a ladder, and hides the best snacks in his office (don’t ask us how we know). Mike also brings the holiday cheer early, playing Christmas music in early November and filling his yard with Christmas decorations. Mike brightens all our days, and we know he will bring some fun to yours, too!

After starting out in Customer Service at Saunders in 2012, Amy has gone on to dabble in just about every possible role—from shipping and estimating to accounts receivable and project management. To say Amy has invaluable company and industry experience is an understatement. But that’s not the only reason we love having Amy on the Saunders team. She’s the type of person who treasures each day and lives life to the fullest. For Amy, this means playing in a weekly pool league, crocheting, making baked goods, and taking long nature walks with her dog, Avery. She’s also incredibly proud of her children—both University of Wisconsin graduates—and loves being part of their lives.

Since joining Saunders in 2023, Marie has kept our Purchasing, Core Optimization, and Inventory Support efforts on track. After making a fresh start in Park Falls and purchasing a home, Marie is enjoying becoming part of the community. She’s even started a pet-sitting service on nights and weekends and is having fun meeting new people—and their furry friends. Aside from helping the Saunders team stay organized, Marie has earned the nickname “Lightfoot” for her uncanny ability to open and close office doors without making a sound. She also loves cooking and sharing recipes with the team, as well as cruising around on her Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

If there’s a purchase order to process, a spreadsheet to tame, or a snack stash to locate (usually in Mike’s office), Brooke’s already on it. As our Data Entry and Administrative Assistant, she’s the behind-the-scenes powerhouse making sure things run smoother than freshly sanded veneer. When Brooke’s not wrangling paperwork, she’s off the grid—literally. Whether chasing bears, tracking deer, or reeling in fish, Brooke is most at home deep in the woods, out on the water, or relaxing around a campfire. A proud member of the local fire department and a new mom as of January 2025, she juggles it all with a smile. Brooke is also big on quality time. Whether it’s a weekend with family, a night out with friends, or just a driveway chat, she always brings laughter and a whole lot of heart. She’s the kind of teammate who gets things done and makes it fun along the way.

Bob is exactly the type of person you want as your Maintenance Supervisor and Facilities Manager. No stranger to hard work, Bob grew up on his family’s dairy farm in Park Falls, Wisconsin, honing his trade skills while working on the farm. Today, he continues to live on the original homestead. Since joining Saunders in 2024, Bob has led the Saunders facilities and maintenance teams with dedication.  He’s a strong advocate for trade schools, encouraging young people to explore classes in automotive repair, carpentry, and metalwork.
